Monograms - DT for Scrapping4FunChallenges

Hola everyone!

Finally, a normal week for the first time this year!  I feel so much better!

Today, I want to share with you my Design Team project for Challenge #11 of Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  The challenge for this week was to create something with a Monogram in it.

I used an old canvas picture, that I found in the trash, which  I painted with white spray paint first, then used the DCWV It's all about the boys robots paper for the background.  For the Monogram, I printed the letter "G" using the CK Silly Simon font, and then cut it out from a cookie carton and painted it with red apple acrylic paint.  To make it shiny, I covered the monogram with Glossy Accents.

The robot is a printable I found in the Creative Market page, which I printed and cut out.  I added googly eyes and some nuts brads to it.  On the top left corner, I added some flat head nuts brads as well.

Well, hope you like my Monogram project!  Head on over to Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges and show me what you can do with Monograms.

Peace and healthy days for you!

Loved by You - DT for Scrapping4FunChallenges

Hola everyone... again!

This is my second post of the day.  I just had to!

I wanted so share my project for the Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges Design Team challenge #10:  Valentine.

This challenge had 2 parts:

Part 1:  Create a project from this sketch:

Part 2:  Tell us how you met your spouse/significant other.

So, for Part 1 of the challenge, I created this layout:

I used American Crafts and DCWV paper, along with an Ann Griffin die cut sheet for the heart background.  The clouds, sun, plane, tree, banner and heart were cut with my Cricut and SCAL.  My Mind's Eye washi tape kept the photos in place, along with the journaling tag.

Now on to the story of how I met my husband...

My husband was my neighbor when I moved to my home.  Seven years ago I had a Basset Hound named Timi (she went to the Rainbow Bridge in September 2012 at the age of 14), and for some reason she was drawn to his apartment.  She would paw at his door and run to him if we ran into each other in the parking lot.  Eventually we started talking and a few months later we had our first kiss.  We have been together since and in 2010 we got married.

I love the story of how me met.  And I still miss my Timi.

I would love to hear the story of how you met your significant other!  Share it with me in the comments.

Peace and healthy days!

A hospital stay

Hola everyone!

2014 has been a challenging and very hard year so far.

First, we came back very sick from our Christmas Cruise.  So much, that we spend New Year's Eve in bed with the sniffles and very high fever.  Then my father fell very ill and ended up in the ICU... where he passed away a week later.

I got sick again (seemed like the flu) after my father's passing and was very sick with the sniffles.  I thought it was just all the crying and the lack of sleep... Well, as it turns out, I was very, very sick!  I had pneumonia and severe bronchitis!  The combination of the two, earned me a stay in the hospital...

Yep! I spent 10 days in the hospital very, very sick, but if you looked at me then, I didn't look sick at all. But, no air was coming into my lungs, so I was in 3 different antibiotics, round the clock oxygen, nebulizer therapy every 2 hours and an anti-inflammatory which they injected directly into my veins every 6 hours.

Thank goodness I was able to get better, and I am now home.

Peace and health,

I'm Back!

Hola everyone!

I'm back to bloggin!  It feels good to be back.  It gives me something to do.

I've been tinkering with my blog and I think I like to keep it simple this time.  I've organized it so, that it matches the one in Spanish as well.  Wanna take a look?  The address is estepequenorincon.blogspot.com

I must confess these past weeks have been very rough.  I am still sad, and still cry once in a while, but I'm doing better.  Thank you for your support and love during this difficult time.

Peace and healthy days,
