A Paper Christmas Tree

Last Saturday I stopped at my favorite store here in Puerto Rico: The Scrapbook Store.  My friend Yamille had just gotten back from CHA, and guess what?  Christmas had arrived!! (Yes, I said Christmas...)  Lots of papers and Christmas kits, buttons and glitter... gorgeous!

This made me start thinking of the decorations, gifts, cards and albums I have to make before Christmas arrives this year.  So, I hit the web to check out the new trends.

That's how I found this great idea:  a 6 foot-tall paper Christmas Tree!  I LOVE it!!!

Brittni from Curbly, has a great tutorial on how to make this gorgeous tree.  I was thinking you can decorate it with recycled, diy ornaments for an even more eco-friendly Christmas.

What do you think?  Would you do a paper Christmas Tree this year?  I think I am!

Peace and healthy days!

Minion Language Translated - Despicable Me

One of my favorite movies of all times is Despicable Me.  I am IN LOVE with the Minions!!  Ohhh, they are soooo cute!!!

My favorite ones are Dave, Carl and Kevin.  But trying to understand what they are saying is a challenge at times.  So, I decided to look around the Internet for some sort of "Minion Dictionary" that would help me understand a little bit more what my favorite characters are saying.

I couldn't find a list, so I made my own with what I found online.  Here it is for you to share:
I also found out that the minions’ language includes French, Spanish... and food references.  They love bananas and apples, and the mere sight of one of these fruits can result in complete chaos! They also enjoy fine arts and find anything having to do with butts extremely funny. They also love spitting, frog legs, bunnies, and building things. They love trying new things. They dislike being unsure of themselves, and when Gru leaves questions unanswered, they get furious! (LOL)

Well, off to go see Despicable Me 2!

Starbucks Cups... Upcycle-Recycle

Hola mis amigos!!  I know it's been a bit since I last posted, but it has been hectic and a lot of illness in the family, and the days have just flown by...

I will restart my blogging with this post I found at The Crafty Crow.  I always wonder what I could do with all of those Starbucks Frapuccino's cups (or those Icee cups, for that matter).  Well, Cassi has a great idea which she found at Muffin Tin Mom:  use them as paint containers!

I was thinking they could be used as glue containers for those times we have to use some Mod Podge, or to store ribbon or twine.  The open top would work great to contain the twine or ribbon while we work with it.

Please share with me how else you would recycle/upcycle these cups?  I would love to hear all the ideas you have!

Have a GREAT weekend!!
