National Scrapbooking Day 2015

Hola everyone!

I have been away on vacation, so that's the reason for my silence.  We went to California and it was AWESOME!  The weather was a perfect upper 50's, we had a chance to rest and to see and do things we haven't seen or done ever.  It was glorious!

Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day and I'm sooooo ready!

National Scrapbooking Day

I will be playing on the online crop of A Cherry on Top, along with my friend Griselda, who will be on Skype.  We have been playing with ACOT for years.  You can actually see how I have evolved from a beginner until now if you visit my gallery.

Ohhh, I can't wait for NSD!!!

I am so ready, that I spent most of the day cleaning my scrap room to have the tools and space I need to spend the day tomorrow scrapping to my heart's content!

Even Casper has a spot to hang out with me tomorrow.

Tell me, are you celebrating National Scrapbooking Day tomorrow?  How are you celebrating?  Tell me in the comments!!

Peace and healthy days for you all!

Quinceañera Card – Julie Nutting “Olive”

Hola everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend!  It is Spring!!  My favorite season of the year.  The flowers are bluming, the birds are chirping… and I have a cute bird nest on one of my plants.  I love it!

My grandmother called me a couple of weeks ago, asking for one of “those gorgeous cards you make” for the girl who she used to care for from 2 months old until she went to pre-school.  She is now turning 15, and grandma wants a Quinceañera card for her.

I hit the Internet for inspiration, and then I remembered: I have some Julie Nutting stamps!!  I'll use my Julie Nutting stamps for this card.  I chose “Olive”:

I stamped “Feliz Cumpleaños” several times on the olive colored carstock (see the pun? “Olive” on olive paper…lol) and I stamped Olive in several papers, and pieced her back together with patterned paper for her dress, shoes and headband.

For the flowers and leaves, I got the cut files from here, and placed a white enamel dot on each one.

Hope you like my latest creation, and that it inspires you to create.

Peace and healthy days for you all!

I {heart} ur Smile - Using flowers on a manly LO

Hola everyone!

I've been so busy with work, time has just flown by.  In addition, I am sick with the Chikungunya Virus.  Everything hurts!

Trying to get my mind off how sick I feel, I sat in my scrap-room and decided to do an LO of some cute pictures of my brother.  I read on the Daily Digi that it's ok to use flowers on a "manly" LO, so I decided to scraplift one of Heddy's LO's for this layout.  Keep in mind that hers is a digital layout, while mine was done with paper.

For this layout I used American Crafts cardstock in white and green, DCWV "The Snapshot Stack" cardstock and thickers for the alpha.  The paint, brads and flowers are from my stash and the circle was done with the cap of a large can.

I love how the stamps and colors complement the picture.  And the flowers don't make it feminine, do they?

Hope you like my newest creation and it inspires you to create!

Peace and healthy days!

Besitos,
