In Black & White

Hola everyone!

My last challenge as a DT for Scrapping4FunChallenges, was to create a Black and White project, and I had just the pictures for that.

The papers are American Craft and the flowers I handmade after finding this tutorial from Lynn Larson.  Gorgeous and super easy to do!!   To finish off my Layout, I added some enamel beads in black and white.

With this LO I say goodbye to the wonderful team of DTs at Scrapping4FunChallenges, and her creator, Rachelle.  It has been an honor and a privilege to have played with you.

Hope you like this project and that it inspires you to create.

Peace and Healthy Days!

Father's Day Card

Hola amigos!

Wow! Time sure flies! It is almost June already!  It's Summer Time!!!

It is also the time of the year I've been dreading... Father's Day.  I lost my father in January 15th... He had a 2 year battle with Multiple Myeloma.  I am in Peace.  I am glad he is no longer suffering.

In his honor, I made this card for Challenge #18 of Scrapping4FunChallenges.  He was a contractor and wood worker, and he loved his tools.

This is a hybrid card, as I printed the tool images I found online.  Hope it inspires you to create!

Peace and healthy days!

Lace and buttons

Hola eveyone!

How is this week going for you?  Today is Wednesday... actually the end of Wednesday, and this week has been a bit icky for me, as I have been sick... again!  I have bronchitis again.  No real reason why, after I just spent half of February in the hospital with the same thing...

Anyway, Scrapping4FunChallenges Challenge #13, is all about lace and buttons.  This was a bit hard for me, as I am not a very lacey type of girl... but I pulled it off!

My friend who lives in the Dominican Republic will be receiving this cute kitty card in the mail soon.

Thanks for joining me this week!  And I promise I will tell you all about my South Hill Designs new venture before the week is out!

Peace and healthy days!

Hola amigos!

Hope you are having an awesome Friday!  I am in very good spirits and very good health (finally!), so I'll be enjoying the weekend with my husband, and doing some work for my new South Hill Designs business, which I will tell you about in another post this weekend.  I promise!

Scrapping4FunChallenges Challenge #12, asks for Flowers!  We all love flowers, don't we?  And with Spring coming up soon, I really loved this challenge.

So, without further ado, here's my entry for Challenge #12:

Hope this inspires you to create something amazing this weekend.  If you do, share it with me and my friends at Scrapping4FunChallenges.

Peace and healthy days!

Monograms - DT for Scrapping4FunChallenges

Hola everyone!

Finally, a normal week for the first time this year!  I feel so much better!

Today, I want to share with you my Design Team project for Challenge #11 of Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges.  The challenge for this week was to create something with a Monogram in it.

I used an old canvas picture, that I found in the trash, which  I painted with white spray paint first, then used the DCWV It's all about the boys robots paper for the background.  For the Monogram, I printed the letter "G" using the CK Silly Simon font, and then cut it out from a cookie carton and painted it with red apple acrylic paint.  To make it shiny, I covered the monogram with Glossy Accents.

The robot is a printable I found in the Creative Market page, which I printed and cut out.  I added googly eyes and some nuts brads to it.  On the top left corner, I added some flat head nuts brads as well.

Well, hope you like my Monogram project!  Head on over to Scrapping 4 Fun Challenges and show me what you can do with Monograms.

Peace and healthy days for you!

    Hola everyone!

As promised, here’s the Disney Mini TP Album #3, I made them for the daughters of a friend of mine, who visited Walt Disney World this summer.

I really loved working on these minis!  And I truly love how they turned out!  What do you think?  Leave me a comment with your thoughts on these adorable gifts!

    CHALLENGES: A Casper LO

    Hola everyone!

I couldn't sleep last night, so I spent the night scrapping in my scraproom.  I got inspiration from the Latina Crafter blog, and decided to scrap our newly adopted doggie, Casper.

The day after we got him, he ate the toilet paper... on our bed! LOL  So cute our Casper!

For this LO I used American Crafts cardstock, patterned paper from DCWV and Thickers alphas.

Thanks for visiting my Little Corner!  Stay tuned for the Disney Mini Album #3!

Peace and health for you all!

    Disney TP Mini Album #1

Hola everyone!  A few weeks ago I posted about working on 3 Disney TP Mini Albums for my friend’s girls who visited Walt Disney World for their summer vacation.  Well, the wait is over!  I am finally done with them and I couldn't wait any longer to share them with you.  I will post one a day until you have seen them all.  They are gorgeous!

Ready?  Ok, here’s the first one!

I used Mod Podge and digi paper to cover the toilet paper rolls.  For the embellishments, I purchased the Disney WordArt from TrixieScraps, which I printed on my computer.  Another digital kit I used was the Remember the Magic kit from No Reimer Reason.

The album has tags, glitter cardstock, stamps, buttons, flowers and lots of space to place pictures or journal.  I know the girls will be thrilled with their mini albums!

Thanks for looking!  I hope this inspired you to make something special with those toilet paper rolls.

And come back tomorrow when I'll reveal Mini Album #2.  See you then!

Peace and healthy days for you!

    Band-Aid card

Hi everyone!  Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend as much as I am!  It is after all, my birthday weekend!

I am feeling 100% better.  I am so grateful for that.

Unfortunately, It is my mom who's now sick.  She's been in the hospital since Thursday.  Although she's feeling better, doctors will keep her there until she's completely out of her pneumonia.  Hopefully, she'll only be there for a couple of more days.

So, to brighten her spirits, I made her this card, which I took to the hospital along with a beautiful yellow roses and sunflowers bouquet:

    And yes, she loved it!

Peace and healthy days for you all!

Sneak Peek - Disney Mini TP Album

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a great week!

I am still not feeling well, so I've been working from home and visiting my doctors.  But don't worry, I know I'll be good-as-new in no time!

When not working, to keep my mind occupied, I've been doing some challenges I've found on the web.  I've also been working on this Mini TP Album for the girls of a friend of mine.  They just got back from Walt Disney World, and I just know the girls will love these to show their friends what a great time they had during their summer vacation.

Here's a sneak peek of the mini:

Isn't it pretty?  I am trying to keep a general Disney theme, but I'm adding a little something here and there to personalize it for each girl.  I know they will just love it!

Well, that's it for now.  Come back in a couple of days, when I'll show you the finished mini.  Have an awesome weekend!!

Peace and healthy days for you all!

August Challenges: Latina Crafter Sketch Challenge #26 & Freshly Made Sketches #98

Hola!  After a little while without scrapbooking (or even touching a paper, glue or scissors), I decided to get back to my favorite hobby by participating in the Latina Crafter and Freshly Made Sketches August challenges.

Here's Latina Crafter Sketch Challenge #26:

And the Freshly Made Sketch #98:
Great sketches, huh?  Here's my version of this challenge:

I used Latina Crafter's "Pasaba a Saludarte" stamp set for the "Hola!" and papers from Simple Stories.

Hope you like my new card!  I would love to hear your opinion!

Peace and healthy days for you all!

    A Paper Christmas Tree

Last Saturday I stopped at my favorite store here in Puerto Rico: The Scrapbook Store.  My friend Yamille had just gotten back from CHA, and guess what?  Christmas had arrived!! (Yes, I said Christmas...)  Lots of papers and Christmas kits, buttons and glitter... gorgeous!

This made me start thinking of the decorations, gifts, cards and albums I have to make before Christmas arrives this year.  So, I hit the web to check out the new trends.

That's how I found this great idea:  a 6 foot-tall paper Christmas Tree!  I LOVE it!!!

Brittni from Curbly, has a great tutorial on how to make this gorgeous tree.  I was thinking you can decorate it with recycled, diy ornaments for an even more eco-friendly Christmas.

What do you think?  Would you do a paper Christmas Tree this year?  I think I am!

    Peace and healthy days!

    Flower Pot Card Tutorial

I've never made a tutorial before, so I thought it was a good idea to start with a simple card.  This card is a Flower Pot Card which is both easy and beautiful.

First, gather your supplies:  card stock, patterned paper, border punch, ribbon and flowers.

I used the blue cardstock for my flower pot base.  Cut your piece of paper 5-1/4" x 8".  Score at 4".  This will allow for you to place your card in a 6" x 6" envelope with flowers and all.

Fold the card RIGHT SIDES TOGETHER.  This will help when we cut the card to give it the flower pot form.

Next, we need to give our card the flower pot shape.  Keeping the card closed right sides together, mark 1/2" in from the edges along the fold.

Measure from the top of the "pot" to the 1/2" mark and draw a line.  This gives you the line to cut along.  This will give you your tapered line creating your pot.

See why you need to draw the lines on the “inside” of the card?

Here's what your "pot" card should look like:

Now, cut the patterned paper 1-1/2" x 5-3/4".  This will become the rim of your pot.

Scallop the edge and glue your ribbon to the back of the rim piece.  Tie a bow on the front and glue to the border of your "pot".  Make sure it is aligned correctly! (It's Ok if you have more on one side than in the other. You can always trim it and make it equal.  *wink wink*).

Now for the insert, I cut a piece of the patterned paper 3-1/2" x 5" and layered it with a piece of white cardstock cut at 3" x 4-3/4".  If you'd like, you could distress it with ink or any other distressing method you use.

I then inserted the layered card into the pot to see how far up to place the flowers.  I used a pencil to lightly mark it.

What you want is to cover the insert so you don't see it,  but do it separate, so you don't glue it to the pot.  Otherwise, your insert will not slide out.

I used hot glue to glue my flowers into place.  I used pima (Petaloo) flowers, but you can use diecuts, paper, or any type of flower you'd like, and as many as you'd like.

Glue the sides of the pot over the edge.  Once dry, slide your insert and presto! You have just made a flower pot card!

If you like, you can use a rust, brown or terra-cotta colored card stock and make the "pot" look real.  Just have fun, and use your imagination to change it up to fit any ocassion or season.

I hope you had fun creating this simple, yet beautiful card.  Thanks for stopping by my Little Corner!
